About our Teachers

  • Tina Collins - Has been making jam and preserving with Fowlers Vacola for 27 years. Her passion for wanting her young children to have healthy clean food started her on a journey as a nurturing cook. This passion soon extended to others. She now teaches these near forgotten arts in our cooking school and also preserves and cooks for the label TasteBuds.

  • Maria Stuart - Trained Chef for 25 years. Her firm foundation of family cooking came from her mother and grandmother who grew up in the bush using traditional recipes. She has fond memories of the generosity and abundance with every meal. Her passion is to share what she loves with others.

  • Ebony Collins - Trained as a primary school teacher, Ebony combines her passion for caring for young children and her love of eating healthy food, to a beautiful class.

  • Carolyn Johns - Documentary photographer of 30 years. Grew up in rural Victoria on a sheep & wheat farm. The kitchen was where my family cooked, talked, ate, fought, laughed and hunted for freshly baked treats. Influenced by my mother who cooked & cooked & cooked, feeding shearer, after shearer, year after year. ‘ says Carolyn.  See the article appearing in The Age 2nd July 2008 & the photographic exhibition "An Affair to Remember"

  • Sherry Strong - Chef, Nutritionist. Former Victorian Chair Of Nutrition Australia, Sherry has shared the stage with Stephanie Alexander, Rosemary Stanton and Jamie Oliver including regular television appearances. She is a diet hater & food lover & motivates audiences to make life changing choices by showing them how easily it can be done.

  • Mica Benito has been a professional artisan chocolatier for over seven years in Melbourne: beginning at Lizzy’s Chocolates and moving on to Cacao in St Kilda. Both Cacao’s and Lizzy’s chocolates have been awarded several medals, including Gold at the Melbourne Show. Mica continues to be delighted at the variety and taste possible from fine chocolate, and seeks to share this joy with others though this class.
